Frozen Assets
The Frozen Assets fundraiser became an annual Hubbardston tradition since its inception in 2008. It was established to provide income for the Hubbardston Business Association and to enable us to make donations to organizations that benefit the citizens of Hubbardston.
Frozen Assets was an ice-out contest in which a specially built outhouse is placed on Bent’s Pond off of Route 68 in Hubbardston in February. People buy tickets to guess the date and time that the ice will thaw enough to allow the outhouse to break through.
The person with the closest guess won $2,000 cash, and the runners-up are awarded prizes that have been donated by area businesses. Frozen Assets was funded by the sponsorship of area businesses and by ticket sales to the public.
The fundraiser was discontinued in 2012 and its future is being determined. We are grateful for having had the opportunity to do so much good for some very worthy organizations.
